Richard A. Olsen, DDS

Dr. Richard Olsen received an honorable discharge from the USAF after completing tours of duty in Vietnam and Japan. He entered Eastern Michigan University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree. In 1980 he earned his DDS degree from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. After dental school Dr. Olsen continued with advanced study by completing a one year hospital residency program.

Dr. Olsen has served as an instructor of Dentistry at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital, University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics, Detroit Receiving Hospital, and Carolinas Medical Center. He also has held faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University, University of Chicago, University of Detroit, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since leaving his position as Associate Chairman of the Department of Dentistry at Carolinas Medical Center, he joined his wife's practice forming Olsen and Olsen Restorative and General Dentistry.

He has authored a number of articles which have been published in several national dental journals. Along with his wife Donna, Dr. Olsen is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Second District Dental Society and the Iredell Dental Society.

He has been inducted into several honorary dental societies including: Pierre Fouchard, Academy of Dentistry International, and the International College of Dentists.

 

Donna B. Olsen, DMD

Dr. Donna Olsen earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her Master’s degree from Wayne State University. After completing her Master’s, Dr. Olsen entered Case Western
Reserve University School of Dentistry, where she graduated with high honors. She then completed a one-year hospital residency program and spent a second year of advanced training in Oral Pathology.

Selected for membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society for top ranking graduates, she is also a fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International, an honorary dental society dedicated to worldwide dental service. Dr. Olsen is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Second District Dental Society and the Iredell Dental Society. A former faculty member at Carolinas Medical Center, Dr. Olsen has authored several articles on dentistry.
